Welcome to Faith Works Language Initiative

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age. AMEN.” (Matthew 28: 19-20)

Our Guiding Vision

“After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could number, of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, with palm branches in their hands, and crying out with a loud voice saying, “Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!”” (Revelation 7:9-10)

The Bible is Eternal

“But the Word of the LORD endures forever.” (1 Peter 1:25)

Teach the Word

“And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.” (Deuteronomy 6:6-7)

The Power of God’s Word

“For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.” (Hebrews 4:12)

We Serve Bible Translation Needs of Minority Communities in Nigeria

Bible Translation Ministry

Bible Translation Ministry

Faith Works Language Initiative (FWLI) partners with Bible-less minority communities in Nigeria to translate the Bible into their mother tongues. We train, equip, and work alongside native speakers of each language to produce quality translation of Scripture in the format that serves the need of their people best.

Currently, there are an estimated 150 minority Nigerian languages without any portion of the Bible. The need is great, the field is challenging, and your support is crucial.
Where We Serve

Where We Serve

We serve in partnership with minority communities across Nigeria who wish to translate the Bible into their mother tongues. These represent millions of Nigerians who currently do not have any portion of Scripture in their own languages. It is a diverse mission field with challenges and immense opportunities.

Working with language representatives, we assess characteristics of the community, such as the status of their orthography and literacy level, to determine the translation format that matches the needs of their people.
What We Do

What We Do

Faith Works Language Initiative (FWLI) is a registered non-governmental/non-profit organization based in Jos, Nigeria. Working alongside stakeholders, we serve Bible translation, Scripture engagement, Bible publishing, and adult literacy needs of minority communities in the country.

Our organization’s name is taken from James Chapter 2. Our mission affirms our belief that “…faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead”. (James 2:17).
